This crash course in leather design teaches you how to make high quality fashion belts, purses, brooches and cuffs in record time! You will learn how to select, treat and decorate different leathers, create your own designs, and use a variety of metal fittings for professional results.

NEW EXPANDED Leather Fashion Accessories evening course
In this intensive ten week course, Katherine focuses on design and introduces a wide variety of hand-working and machine techniques, giving you the chance to explore a range of decorative, construction and finishing processes, as well as work on a project of your own design. You will learn to:
- Design a leather bag, boxes and purses, belts or other fashion items
- Make accurate patterns
- Learn to use a cylinder arm industrial machine
- Experiment with surface decoration including carving, stamping and foiling
- Explore hand-construction techniques including moulding and saddle-stitching
- Become familiar with leather production techniques including machine skiving, splitting and riveting
- Use finishing techniques involving paints, foils, waxes and dyes
