Alison Willoughby has created a name for herself with her eclectic approach to fashion textiles design, and iconic book '49 and a half skirts', published last year. A graduate of Glasgow School of Art and the RCA, Alison's highly crafted work features in exhibitions around the globe.
Alison will take you on a rollercoaster ride through her vast repertoire of techniques for playing with fabric. Pleating and tucking, ruffling and rolling, cutting-in, transfer-printing, stitching, looping and incorporating found objects and recycled elements.
Day one You will spend the first day playing with ideas to create your own series of innovative fabric samples, drawing on a favourite photo for inspiration.
Dayt two On the second day, you will apply the ideas generated to embellish garments or other objects you have brought in, such as bags and cushions, or to make wall pieces and other home accessories.
