No prior jewellery experience is required for this gorgeous one-day workshop with
Maya Selway- a perfect introduction to precious metal jewellery!
Maya demonstrates the wonderful softness of fine silver (and gold) and shows you how to make a twisted wire ring. Maya only uses ethically sourced and 100% recycled metals, and her work is infused with a sense of freedom and playfulness with materials and processes.
You will:
- Become familiar with the essential properties of fine silver (or gold)
- Discover how to twist wire both by hand and machine
- Experiment with a range of sections and thicknesses for different effects
- Design and make your own ring
- Gain a practical understanding of sizing and soldering
