Discover the exciting art of couture millinery, and learn how to make your own beautiful special occasion hat during this fun and creative weekend.

Using light and versatile sinamay straw, the course will cover blocking, stiffening, manipulation, steaming, binding, wiring and various methods of trimming.
You will:

• Make your own unique hat from scratch
• Explore design and the use of colour
• Work with traditional millinery fabrics and stitches
• Experiment with blocking, shaping and material manipulation

Judy made her first hat while teaching costume design at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and her passion for the exciting sculptural aspects of millinery led her to train with some of London's best milliners and eventually go on to create her own exclusive label.
