This unique workshop led by silversmith Maya Selway is an introduction into working with silver wire to create contemporary jewellery.

Over the 8 week evening class you will explore and experiment with a range on basic jewellery and silversmithing techniques. Enabling you to go on to design and make a personalised modular ring consisting of six or more silver rings which can be worn singularly or as a group. Techniques covered will include:

• Forging and texturing silver with hammers
• Annealing, soldering and pickling
• Twisting and drawing wire into different sections and thicknesses
• Using jigs and formers to shape
• Joining, filing, sanding and polishing.
